California Business Insurance: Steps for Customer Injury
You have the insurance, but do you know what to do if a customer is injured while using your product? While our California business insurance is here for you if this situation occurs, we want to make sure you know what your business’s immediate steps should be.
While the following may not be the way some businesses choose to go about responding to situations, it will at the very least allow your business to begin talking about what your steps should be.
Reduce Ambiguity
Talk to anyone and everyone that was involved in or witnessed the injury. Make sure that the incident is as clear as possible in your own head. If you want, you may want to ask witnesses to give you their contact information, just in case.
Respond Promptly
If the media is broadcasting the situation to the public, you may want to respond. Sometimes sitting silent can be a bad move. And remember, the statement can be as simple or complex as you like. You can take or place blame, or simply tell the media that you will be filing a California business insurance claim in response to the incident.
Communicate with
the Public
Try to reduce any impact an incident will have with possible customers. Use your business’s communication channels to keep customers up to date with the business, and let them know that they are still important to you. Also, you could consider letting them know that they are in no danger of a repeat situation, assuming that you have put protective buffers in place.
